Library Policy & Guidelines

In line with the objective of rendering the best services to the library clientele, particularly the proper use of our library facilities, to make it conducive to quiet study, everybody is enjoined to observe the following rules:

Library Rules and Regulations

  1. For all library transactions, the bar-coded ID must be presented.
  2. SILENCE should be observed at all times in the general reading area.
  3. The following offenses will be dealt accordingly:
    • Smoking
    • Eating, drinking and sleeping
    • Drawing, sketching
    • Littering or improper throwing of trash
    • Unnecessary and loud talking
    • Public Display of Affection
    • Dishonesty or cheating (Use of another student's ID or lending it to another student)
    • Taking out library materials that are not properly borrowed
    • Marking or tearing of pages from books or periodicals
    • Acts of vandalism that damage library furniture, equipment and other property
    • Stealing library/staff property or those of other users
  4. The library is for quiet study and not a meeting place by any group or a rendezvous for special friends.
  5. Loitering inside the reading area is strictly prohibited because it distracts students, who are studying their lessons seriously.
  6. Library users are not allowed to move chairs from one table to another.
  7. Cell phones should be in MUTE / SILENT mode.

The Library Staff reserve the right to call the attention of library users for non-compliance of the above, and may be subjected to some disciplinary action.

Borrowing Privileges

Circulation

  • Students: Can borrow two (2) circulation books for three (3) days and can renew for another three days, unless needed or reserved by other library users.
  • Faculty members: Can borrow five (5) books for one (1) week and can renew for another week, unless needed or reserved by other library users.

Reserved Books

  • One (1) book can be borrowed for one (1) period and can be renewed for another hour/period, unless needed or reserved by other library users.

Reading Room Use Only

Reference books such as encyclopedias, yearbooks, dictionaries, newly acquired books, reserved books, thesis, special project, dissertation, periodicals, newspapers, audio-visual materials, and vertical file clippings are for LIBRARY USE ONLY.

Service Hours

  • MONDAY-FRIDAY: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
  • SATURDAY: 8:00AM - 12:00PM
  • CLOSED ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS
